I’m sure you’ve heard the popular term VSCO girls. It’s everywhere. But did you know that this powerful group of girls, ranging from 8 years old to 25+ years old, have some very strong opinions, especially when it comes to a vehicle? Their vehicle of choice is a Jeep. They love taking their Jeeps to the beach and just being free spirits. A Jeep fits into the vision they have of being open and free. You can take the doors and top of a Jeep giving it that open, free feeling as you cruise down the shoreline with your girls.
A Jeep Wrangler really is the preferred Jeep for a true VSCO Girl. They like to have the option of taking off the top and doors and just letting the sunshine wash over them as they cruise around. The Wrangler is also the popular choice because they can take it off-roading if they want. It’s a versatile vehicle that fits into every VSCO girl’s lifestyle whether they live near the shoreline or in the mountains.
The older VSCO girls, the ones with job and money are setting the tone for the younger ones and the younger ones are following them in droves. Being a VSCO Girl and having your own Jeep Wrangler is what it meant in the 90s for teens to have ESPIRIT bags. Though the price tags are vastly different these young ladies are managing to obtain their desired vehicles.
We own an SUV and a Jeep Wrangler, my daughter also claims to be a young VSCO Girl. So when we go out she always asks if we can use the Wrangler over the SUV, especially if we are going someplace she knows her friends are going to be at. It’s a status symbol. Even though she cannot drive, having a Wrangler in the family elevates her VSCO Girl status among her peers.
Now how are you going to tell a VSCO Girl’s Jeep from a regular Jeep? Easy! Look for scrunchies!! These young ladies have scrunchies at the ready, with usually a few on their gear shift for emergencies. Also, look for turtles, these young ladies will usually have at least one thing turtle on their Jeep. It could be a window decal, bumper sticker or even seat cover, you never know. But when you see a Jeep with young girls, scrunchies on wrists and turtles someone on the Jeep it’s safe to say you’ve encountered a VSCO Girl.
