This year our focus has been on living a healthier lifestyle. Taking care of our bodies and taking a look at our relationship with food and those around us. I’m currently reading Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion because I’m curious as to what Joel Marion has to share with us. Plus that cover, with that yummy burger, just draws me in. I mean, if that’s considered diet food then count me in! Though I really do not like the word diet. I think to truly be successful you need to be educated about food and how your body is processing the food.
Always Eat After 7 PMI feel is geared towards the foodie. The person who enjoys eating but still wants to lose weight. I know the number one reason I fall off a diet plan is because I’m hungry or having insane cravings because in order to follow the diet I need to deprive myself. Deprivation does not work for me. But with Always East After 7 PM you still get to enjoy a hearty dinner, desserts, and even indulgent snacks. That caught my attention.

That surprised me. As someone who has struggled with weight loss, I always thought my metabolism slowed down when I slept and that is why I should not eat before bed. This is a game-changer for me. I mean, being a busy, single mom, sometimes I don’t get to eat until maybe a half-hour before bed. So knowing that my metabolism is still going while I’m sleeping, at the same rate as when I am awake helps relieve the anxiety and stress about eating before a certain time.
I am going to take the next few months and implement the strategies that Joel Marion lays out in his book, Always Eat After 7 PM. And I’m going to try some of his tasty recipes he features. I will say, the recipes look delicious and extremely satisfying.
