Emojis are hot. Everyone uses them and loves them. Kids, especially love them. I know Peyton and her little friends want all things emoji. Now that school is out I am looking for projects for Peyton to do during her downtime. I much rather have her working on a project or reading than watching television. The Big Face Smile Emoji pillow is a perfect rainy day project to keep on hand.
The Big Face Emoji Pillow combines a child’s love of emojis with sewing. This project will help your child work on several skills, like following step by step directions, practising fine motor skills with sewing and giving them the sanctification of completing a project and making their very own emoji pillow.
Everything you need is included in the kit. As you can see below it’s all there. The directions provide a step by step tutorial suitable for 5 years old and up. The sewing holes are pre-stamped and the sewing needle is a firm plastic, making this a safe and simple sewing project for little ones. There’s no guesswork on where to put the stitch and no worries about them poking themselves with a sharp needle.
They will also be working on fine motor skills when they are tying the pillow together and adding the finishing touches.
In my opinion, this pillow is perfect for those rainy days or days that are too hot for the littles to play outside. Not only will it keep them busy on a screen-free project but they also get to build their confidence, skills and have an awesome pillow to show at the completion of the project.
I know Peyton has been enjoying making her pillow. She’s not finished yet, but when she is we will post a picture for you to see. She’s 8 years old and is finding it fairly easy to follow the directions. The sewing is taking her a little bit, but she’s a perfectionist so I think that may have something to do with it.
If you’re looking for a great project to keep on hand the Emoji Pillow is a great option!
