4 Reasons You’re Feeling Tired

Have you been feeling sluggish recently? Do you always seem to feel tired and struggle to make it through the day? There are many reasons for feelings of low energy and fatigue. Sometimes it is caused by an underlying medical condition. So it is important to visit your doctor to rule out any illnesses. However, your tiredness could be as a result of lifestyle choices you’re making. Making some simple changes will help boost your energy levels.Sleeping CHild

  1. You’re Not Getting Enough Sleep

This is the obvious place to start. If you’re feeling tired, it could be due to sleep deprivation. If we don’t get enough sleep each night, this creates a sleep deficit which builds up over time. When we sleep our bodies go through several important processes to restore cells and replenish our bodies. If this is interrupted, then these changes can’t occur. This impacts us negatively in many ways. One of those is making us feel tired during the day.

The amount of sleep you need each night depends largely on age. On average, adults require at least seven hours sleep. If you’re not getting this, then it’s time to take action.

  1. You’re Skipping Breakfast

Are you a morning person? Do you spring out of bed when the alarm clock goes off? Do you pack in a quick workout and a hearty breakfast? Or, do you hit the snooze button for as long as possible, grab a coffee, and skip breakfast?

Skipping breakfast on a regular basis can lead to long-term health problems. It can affect your ability to function at optimum levels and leaves you feeling tired and depleted. Always make time for breakfast and ensure you consume the right nutrients. If you’re running late, opt for nutritious Milo chocolate drinks or similar. They are quick to prepare and will provide you with the necessary nutrients for a great start to the day.

  1. You’re Not Eating The Right Food

What we put into our bodies affects every aspect of our lives. If you’re eating the wrong food, this may be contributing to your tiredness. Your body is like an engine. It needs the right fuel to make it function properly.

Avoid white carbs such as bread, rice, and pasta. They will satisfy an immediate feeling of hunger. However, they will cause a crash leading you to feel hungry again shortly afterwards. Replace white carbs with healthier, whole grain versions. So, opt for brown bread, brown pasta, and brown rice.

Eating a balanced diet is the best way to combat fatigue. This involves consuming a variety of food from different food groups. This should include plenty of fruit and veg, whole grains and protein. It should be low in sugar, salt, and fat. Though, not all fats are bad for you.
