Is Your Air Conditioning Ruining Your Skin?

However you feel about your skin, you will not want it to age prematurely. No-one wants to look as if they are 10 years older than they actually are. There are some aspects of our skin that we cannot control. Some people have skin that ages slowly and that is governed by their genes. However, there are other factors that you can control. The big one is smoking. Smoking cigarettes is very bad for the condition of your skin and leads to fine lines and wrinkles forming early on in your life. The best thing you can do for your skin is to give up smoking.

Unfortunately, there are other environmental factors that age the skin. Ultraviolet light from the sun causes aging as does pollution from traffic. It is always important to stay well hydrated. Your body needs a lot of water to survive and your skin needs a lot of water to keep it supple and plump.

One of the factors that you may not have thought of is air conditioning. This could be drying out your skin and making it look older than it actually is. There are, however, some steps that you can take to protect your skin from this damage.

Air conditioning and skin dryness

Air conditioning is used in homes and offices to keep the temperature at a comfortable level. Without it, many homes and workplaces would become unbearable. It works by cooling down the air before it is blown back out into the room. As the air is cooled, the moisture is also removed. Air conditioned air is very dry air. The humidity levels in the room will fall. This is why you sometimes get a dry throat when you are in an air-conditioned room.

Your skin loses moisture all the time. When you are in high humidity, it does not lose a lot of moisture but when you are in a room where the air is not humid, your skin dries out very quickly.

Helping your skin to cope with air conditioning

If you spend a lot of time in an air-conditioned environment your skin will need a little help. You need to use a high-quality product that will help it to retain moisture. You can use Hyaluronic Acid from OZNaturals to give total protection to your skin in an air-conditioned atmosphere. This natural product is a potent serum that supplies a layer of moisture-loving nutrients deep into your skin. The serum combines Hyaluronic Acid with Vitamin C so that your skin becomes soft and supple and reclaims its glow.

It is also vital that you drink. Do not wait until you are thirsty because that will be too late! Keep a bottle of fresh mineral water with you at all times and take frequent sips. If you get bored of plain water add some ice and fresh fruit.

Give your skin a break from the air conditioning as often as you can. Go for a wander around the park and sit in the shade. Your skin will thank you for it!
