Captive DVD

Remember a few months back when we reviewed Captive? Well back then it was only available as a book. But Thanks to Hollywood they turned this real life story into a movie. Starring David Oyelowo as Brian Nichols and Kate Mara as Ashley Smith, the two main characters. They bring Ashley's recollection of the events to life on the big screen. At some point in your life you have felt held captive. Whether it’s been financial struggles holding you back, not being confident in your self to take the ...

Klondike Brownie Sundae

Who doesn't love ice cream? I know in our house we always have several varieties on hand. But scooping out of large ice cream containers can be difficult. And if you have several people to please this can also get time consuming. So I have a solution! Here's a delicious recipe for a Klondike brownie ice cream sundae without all the scooping. What you will need - Klondike Original Bars (I used 1 whole bar in the picture below) Brownies Chocolate Sauce Caramel Sauce Whip ...

The Good Dinosaur

Last week Peyton and I went to a sneak peak of The Good Dinosaur. And I must say I have mixed emotions about the movie. On one hand I thought the animation was beautiful but on the other hand I felt like the ending was extremely unsatisfactory. I did not feel it was tied up nicely. It's like the writer just stopped, went for a coffee and never came back to finish it off. So what's the story line? Arlo, The Good Dinosaur, and his family live on a farm, Arlo's family consist of himself, 2 older ...

I’m Happy for You

Boy can I relate to this book! I'm Happy for You (Sort Of.....Not Really) really hits home with me. I used to run around being concerned with what everyone thought about me. How was I perceived to the world? How was I doing compared to everyone else? And then one day I noticed a loved one doing the same thing. And it dawned on me. People really don't care. They are so consumed with their own lives and trying to project this picture perfect life that they really are not looking at yours. They may ...

The First Snow Fall

Well yesterday was the first measurable snowfall where I live. And like every year, the first snowfall is horrific. Horrific because everyone loses their minds! They forget how to drive and all about common courtesy. It's all about them and getting to that all important destination not a minute late. So like every first snowfall of the year traffic was horrible. There were semi-trucks stuck on ramps because it was too icy for them, cars spun out in ditches because they forgot to slow down and ...

Stocking Stuffers with Lush

Every year I try to find some unique and special items for my daughter's Christmas stocking. And every year I end up at Lush. I really love holiday themed bath products and this year they have some great ones! I typically head over to the Mall of America to pick up my stash but everything is also available online. Here's just a few of the season items I feel would make fabulous gift ideas. Stardust Bath Bomb With notes of Ugandan vanilla, Peruvian rain forest rosewood ...
