Captain Marvel Popcorn

Who is a Captain Marvel fan? Raise your hands. Captain Marvel has been all the talk around our house. It’s a big deal. It’s not every day that Marvel releases a stand-alone, female-franchise title character film. It’s not. In fact, this is the first time ever! Peyton and I have seen the film and we loved it. We loved it so much that it inspired us to make some popcorn that we wish we would’ve brought with us to the film. Today, we are going to share our recipe for Captian Marvel Popcorn!

You will need the following –

1 pkg of Yellow Peeps (bunnies melt faster)
2 tbsp Butter
1 c Blue M&Ms
1/2 pkg Red Chocolate Wafers
1/2 c unpopped popcorn kernels
Air Popper
Frying Pan
Plastic sandwich bags
Cardstock
Color Printer
Wax Paper

First step is to air pop that popcorn! You don’t want to use microwave popcorn or store-bought popcorn. It turns out best with fresh air-popped popcorn.

Next, lay out your wax paper and spread out the popcorn. You can do this on a baking sheet or right on your counter.

Then, take your frying pan and melt the butter. Once the butter is melted add in the peeps and cook over low to medium heat, stirring frequently until melted. Do not cook it too high or you are going to carmelize the sugar and turn it brown.  When the peeps have melted drizzle it over your popcorn.

Place your red chocolate wafers in a Ziploc bag and melt in 30-second intervals in the microwave. Once the wafers have melted completely, snip a little corner and drizzle the red chocolate over the popcorn.

Now take those blue M&Ms and sprinkle them throughout the popcorn. Be sure to get them on the chocolate and marshmallows or they won’t stick.

While the chocolate and marshmallow are cooling down, it’s time to print your Captain Marvel Popcorn bag toppers. When the popcorn has cooled down place it in individual sandwich size bags.

To print the Captain Marvel Bag Topper you’ll want to use heavy cardstock for printing. Once printed, cut the bag topper out, fold and staple onto your bagged popcorn. Now store in a cool, dry space until you want to enjoy some Captain Marvel Popcorn! These are perfect for parties, sleepovers or (and I am not advocating this) you can sneak them into the movie theater. But if you get caught doing that I have no clue who you are or where you got that idea.

Hope you enjoy the popcorn as much as we do. Be sure to check out our spoiler-free review of Captian Marvel. We also made some HUGE jumbo Captain Marvel cupcakes that are a hit too. Be sure to try them for yourself.
