Childrens Book

The Three Wise Guys

This is a cute story! I chuckled all the way through it. It's meant for a little older crowd, about 6 or so.  There's lots of humor throughout the story. I feel because of the humor, your child would need to know the bible story of the birth of Jesus to fully get the humor. I love the little boy’s humor in this book, I feel he captures how many of us feel time to time about Sunday school. The Three Wise Guys tells a story about a Sunday school class putting on a play about the birth of ...

Yuletide Ice Cube Fair

Yuletide Ice Cube Fair is a VeggieTales themed book full of the typical VeggieTales fun. It's Christmas time in VeggieTales and they are getting ready of the Yuletide Ice Cube Fair. All the children are having a blast munching on snowcones and slurping slushie drinks. There's even ice skating rinks made with root beer that the children skate on for hours. This fair even has a Ice Cube Queen, though her lips where blue. Not sure if that's from the cold or maybe a little lipstick? The fair had ...

The Very First Christmas

The Berenstain Bears The Very First Christmas takes a very detailed and complex story and brings it down to a children's level without losing the important pieces. My daughter enjoyed The Very First Christmas and she understood what was going on. This is a very kid friendly book and helps young readers understand the importance of Christmas. Throughout the story I felt it was kept at a high level. Like for example, an angel appeared to Mary. They kept the angel part but took out the name of ...

The Berenstain Bears’ Christmas Tree

Another fabulous Berenstain Bears book! When we catch up with the Berenstain Bears it's Christmas Eve and they have yet to decorate their tree!So Papa and the cubs set out to fetch a tree. Mama Bear told them to go buy one from Grizzly Gus and not to stray because a big storm was about to come in. Papa bear dismissed Mama's plea and headed out in search of the perfect Christmas tree. With the cubs in tow they walked right by Grizzly Gus and headed to where Papa thought the best tree would be. ...

The Christmas Story for Children

The Christmas Story for Children by Max Lucado, Randy Frazee and Karen Davis Hill is a pleasant read. It really helps explain the birth of Jesus in a way kids can understand. The whole book is upbeat and positive. I really appreciated that. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading. After attending a private Catholic University where I took several theology course I know the story of Jesus can be a little gory and dark. But the authors did a wonderful job at focusing on the positives ...
