Emoji Inspired Cookies

With The Emoji Movie recently being released I decided to whip up some quick and fun emoji cookies to go along with the movie. These are fairly simple and even the kids can help!

Emoji Cookies SuppliesYou’ll need the following –

Yellow Melting Chocolates

Cookies

Black Icing

White Icing

Red Icing

Blue Icing

Green Icing

Whatever other color icing you would like

Silicone mold

Cookie Sheet

Glass measuring cup

Yellow Melting ChocolateFirst, take the melting chocolates and place them in the glass measuring cup. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring frequently. When the chocolate is melted and smooth take it out.

Emoji CookiesHead over to the silicone molds. Place the mold on the cookie sheet and pour a layer of chocolate into the mold, covering the bottom. Then place a cookie in the center and cover it with more chocolate.

Emoji CookiesNow, this is the hard part. You have to let it harden. You can place them in the fridge but let them cool down some or you’ll have discolored chocolate if the temperature change is too drastic.  I let ours sit for about 10 minutes and then I placed them in the fridge. This is where the cookie sheet comes in handy, if you didn’t have it under the mold you could not be able to easily move it about without cracking the chocolate.

Emoji CookiesAfter about an hour, our chocolate was firm. Remove the cookies from the mold. Using a silicone mold makes it much easier to do this because you can manipulate the mold to get the chocolate out without cracking the cookie.

Emoji CookiesNow is time for the fun part! Use the different color icings to create emoji faces! The possibilities are endless.

Emoji CookiesAnd that’s it! Now you have emoji cookies to enjoy watching The Emoji Movie with. Just add a glass of milk.
