A little over a year ago I took Peyton to see her first Marvel Universe Live. She LOVED it! She had so much fun, she cheered on the heroes, yelled at the villains and couldn’t sit still in her seat. Well, Marvel is back with a new story to share with us. And we took it in this past weekend.
When I first saw that Marvel Universe Live! was coming back to the Twin Cities I thought it was going to be the same show we saw in 2016, but it’s not. It’s a whole new story with some new faces.
This time around, the Guardians of the Galaxy are taking part. And yes, Groot is there! I thought Peyton was going to flip out when she found out that Rocket, Groot, Peter Quill, Gamora, and Drax are all presents. Plus Yondu, Nebulia and more. One of Peyton’s favorite movies this summer was Guardian’s of the Galaxy Vol. 2 so she was very excited to see them all in Marvel Universe Live.
This time around, Marvel has called on Spider-Man, the Avengers, Dr. Strange and Guardian’s of the Galaxy to save the world from the Wand of Watoob. It’s packed full of action and adventure that will keep the whole family on the edge of their seats.
When Peyton saw Yondu come out on stage she started yelling and hollering. She couldn’t believe he was back! Even though he is technically a villain we both adore Yondu. Everything he did to Peter was to keep him safe. There really was a good heart and good intentions behind his actions.
The show is split into 2 segments each lasting roughly 40 minutes. And the show is fairly loud but I did not think it was as loud as the previous Marvel Universe Live. There are explosions but nothing too jarring or scarry. And there is a fair amount of smoke in one scene and fire twirling too. If your child is sensitive to loud noises I would bring a pair of headphones for them to wear to help muffle the noise so they can still enjoy the show. Peyton had a few issues with the last show but did perfectly fine with this one. There was not one time throughout the performance that she felt overwhelmed or scared. In fact, she was bummed when it was over.
With tour dates all around the United States, there are still plenty of shows to take in. Any Marvel fan would be thrilled to receive these tickets on Christmas morning. You can see all the upcoming show dates online with links to purchase tickets.
