The girls are at it again! We catch up with Mia, Maddie and Lulu in Nashville. This is the third book in the series , Glimmer Girls by Natalie Grant. The other two books, A Dolphin Wish and London Art Chase were also about solving mysteries.
If this is your first book the series I’ll give you a little background. Mia and Maddie are twins and Lulu is their little sister. Their mom is the famous singer, Gloria Glimmer. They travel around the world with their mother, father and nanny, Miss Julia when their mom is touring. When not traveling, they live in Nashville, Tennessee. The girls are smart, sassy and resourceful. Each book is full of lessons teaching the reader about being a good friend, telling the truth and more.
In Miracle in Music City, the group is home. They are helping their mother, Gloria, raise money for a charity thru a benefit auction. The benefit auction happens to be a musical benefit for homeless people at the Grand Ol Opray. When it comes time to auction off a famous musician’s guitar and it cannot be found the girls spring into action.
Throughout the story we see the sisters learn about helping those less fortunate, it’s not alway about them and kids can make a difference. I like how the sisters are dealing with real life situations that children deal with. We see how the Glimmer sisters friend’s feeling are hurt when they feel left out. We see the sisters make friends with a homeless child. And we see them have adventures while they try to locate the missing guitar.
By the end of the story all is right. The guitar is found, feelings are resolved and everything is how it should be. For some, this may be frustrating but you have to remember this is a children’s book, geared towards girls 8-11 years old. I feel the ending is appropriate for the intended audience.
I have been reading the Glimmer Girl series to Peyton and she really enjoys them. I enjoy reading them to her because I don’t have to censor it. This is a book free from profanity or adult situations. It’s a book that teaches lessons on friendships and values.
Natalie Grant has a FOURTH book coming out later this fall. So you are going to want to pick up a copy of Miracle in Music City so you are ready for the next book in November.
