It’s October first! Happy October! And that means it is the first day of Crocktober!! Every day this month we are going to publish a new Slow Cooker recipe. These have been tried and tested by my own family, so you know they are yummy! My child does not eat anything that is not packed full of flavor. To kick off the month we are starting with a roast. A Mississippi Pork Roast! It’s a twist on the traditional Mississippi Beef Roast that we did earlier this year.
To create this yummy Mississippi Pork Roast for your family you will need the following –
1 3 lb Pork Roast
1 Pkg Ranch Seasoning
1 Pkg Au Jus Gravy Mix
1/4 C Butter, unsalted
8-10 Pepperoncini Peppers, drained
This is by far one of the most simple pork roast recipes around. It is literally a dump recipe that even the kids can pull together for you.
First, I like to use a slow cooker liner in my crockpot. It just makes clean up so much easier. Place the liner in your slow cooker with the edges hanging over a bit.
Next, place the pork roast in the cooker.
Open up the Ranch Seasoning and Au Jus mix. Either sprinkle them on top of the roast or you can mix them in a bowl first and then sprinkle on top of the roast.
Slice your butter in the chunks and place on top of the roast.
Add the Pepperocinis to the pot.
Place the cover on.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
When the internal temp of the roast is between 145 -150 the roast is done. Shred with two forks and enjoy!
I served our roast over a bed of mashed potatoes with a side of candied carrots and it was delicious!
Great weeknight dinner when you are running short on time.
