If you are like me, you are over this winter. My skin is dry from the constant in and out of the house. From the frigid cold to the dry forced air, my skin needs a little TLC. My senses need a little vacation from the gloom of winter. This Orange Mint Sugar Scrub is the perfect solution for my winter woes. The citrus helps to brighten my mood and the scrub helps to exfoliate that dry winter skin.
Here is what you’ll need to make your own Orange Mint Sugar Scrub at home –
1 cup pure cane sugar
⅓ cup olive oil
10 drops peppermint essential oil
1 teaspoon orange zest
Small Mason Jars
This is a fairly simple sugar scrub recipe just like the other ones I’ve posted. But I just love making our own. This makes a great teacher gift too.
First, in a small bowl, combine the sugar olive oil, peppermint essential oil, and orange zest.
Then stir well until completely blended together.
And lastly, pour in your airtight mason jars until you are ready to use.
This is a fun one you can make with the kids. I personally love having a variety of sugar scrubs in the shower, then I can choose which one I would like to use based on the mood I’m in. Also, sugar scrubs are more gentle than salt scrubs so you can use them more often without the worry of stripping your skin as much. But I still wouldn’t use a sugar scrub more than 3 times a week and if you notice your skin is getting worse back off and do more moisturizing for a few days.
Be sure to keep an eye out for our other sugar scrubs we have up. And if you’re dreaming of those warm summer days, be sure to check out our Strawberry Salt Scrub we posted last month.
