Patriotic Marshmallow Pops

Nothing says it’s the holiday than a table full of treats! Today we are going to make Patriotic Marshmallow Pops! Perfect for any patriotic holiday. Plus they are extremely easy to make and take less than 10 minutes to make. These are also a great treat to make with the kids, Peyton helped make ours.

You will need the following –

1 bag of regular size marshmallows
12 bamboo skewers
1 bag red melting chocolates
1/2 bag dark blue melting chocolates
1/2 bag bright white melting chocolates
Patriotic Sprinkles (if desired)
Wilton Tall Dipping Containers (1)
Ziploc Bag (2)
Wax Paper

patriotic Marshmallow Pop IngredientsThere are only a few steps to this delicious treat. The first step, place 3-4 marshmallows on the bamboo skewer.

Next, it’s time to start melting chocolate. Take the tall dipping container and pour the red melting chocolates into the container. Place in microwave and melt at 30-second intervals. Be sure to take the container out and stir it completely between each 30-second interval. If you skip this step you will have burnt chocolate on the bottom.  Once the red is completely melted it’s time to start dipping!

Red Chocolate Dipped Patriotic Marshmallow PopsBefore you start to dip those marshmallows, lay a sheet of wax paper down with the wax side up. You are going to place your marshmallows on the wax paper once you’ve dipped them. When you are ready, dip a skewer with marshmallows into the container until all the marshmallows are covered. Gently pull the skewer out of the chocolate and give it a gentle shake to remove any excess chocolate.

You want to try and get off as much of the extra chocolate as possible otherwise it will spread out when it’s sitting on the wax paper and you’ll have like a chocolate sheet sticking out from the marshmallows.

Place your dipped marshmallows on the wax paper and let the chocolate set up.

Red white and blue patriotic Marshmallow popsWhile the red chocolate is setting up, dispose of the dipping container and prepare the blue and white chocolate to be melted.

Place a 1/2 bag of blue melting chocolates in a zip loc bag and a 1/2 bag of bright white melting chocolates in another zip loc bag. Take one of the bags and place in the microwave melting for 30-second intervals until smooth.

Once the chocolate is melted snip a little corner off the bag and drizzle the chocolate across the marshmallow pops.

If you are adding sprinkles you’ll want to have these ready to sprinkle immediately after you complete the drizzle.

Finished Marshmallow PopsLet the marshmallow pops sit for about 10 minutes and then you serve them! If it’s a hot and/or humid day place these in the fridge so the chocolate does not melt.

Each recipe will make 12 marshmallow pops (using 4 marshmallows per pop)  Be sure to check out our Patriotic Pretzels too!
