Princesses! How to Meet them all in One Trip – Part 1

Recently I took my daughter on her FIRST trip ever! And it happened to be to the happiest place on earth. Yep, you guessed it – We went to Disney World!! Talk about a dream come true for a four year old. It took me a year to plan and save for this trip. And I didn’t think we would ever be able to afford to come back. So I wanted to make sure my daughter made the most memories that we could in one week. A LOT of planning went in to my trip. And I talked to my daughter about what she wanted to get out of it. Her biggest thing was she wanted to meet EVERY princess. WOW! That’s not a tall order or anything. Super simple. Of course I promised her we would and played it off like it would be easy. No big deal. And then I put Frozen in the DVD player and ran to the computer to look for some help.

Meeting every princess while at Disney is completely possible. It just takes planning. And lots of it! In this series of articles I will let you know how we met EVERY princess and even some of them multiple times! This was only my second time going to Disney and the last time I had been there was 20 years a go so I felt like a first timer. I didn’t know one thing about Disney World. So I turned to a travel agent. And I’m glad I did. She was amazing! I used  Stephanie Madrigal with Mickey Travel. I highly suggest her to anyone who is going to Disney. She was a wealth of information before my trip and during my trip.

The first tip I have for people who would like to meet the princess is book a character meal! While these character meals can be a tad expensive it is the absolute easiest way to get time with each princess. We booked several character meals.

On our first day in Disney I booked a breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall which is located in Epcot at the Norway pavilion. It was a little pricey but for me it was worth it. My daughter was extremely excited. I had no problem getting her out of bed at 6 am to get ready. When you first arrive at Akershus you will check in at a podium outside the restaurant. Then there will be a short wait. I believe we waited no more than 10 minutes. They will announce your party and escort you into the hall where Princess Belle will be waiting for you. You will be able to have a few photos taken with Princess Belle and your party. Since it was just my daughter and myself I left her take all the pictures by herself. She was the one who really wanted to meet Belle. I just wanted some food!

After you have taken your Princess Belle picture they will lead you to your seat in the Hall. Later they will bring you the pictures of your party and Princess Belle in an envelope. We received one 8×10 and two 5×7 prints in a commemorative folder.
Once you are seated, your server will come by and take your drink order and let you know what is going on. He/She will tell you which princesses are there, the rotation schedule and take your drink order.  We were very lucky the day we were there. Princesses Jasmine, Aurora, Ariel and Snow White were in attendance! Akershus is a buffet and sit down. The buffet part is the fruit and pastries. The sit down part is a platter full of eggs, sausages and bacon. It’s unlimited so you are able to ask for more eggs, sausages and bacon. But they do bring a lot to the table so we never needed to ask for more.
While you are eating the Princesses will travel around the room and visit each table. During your visit they will sign a book or what ever you would like and pose for pictures. Here’s the pictures I took when they came to our table.

If you cannot tell my four year old is about to burst! She was so beyond thrilled to be able to meet FIVE Princesses in a matter of an hour! And with virtually no waiting. This was our first meal at Disney World and it was our first day in the parks too. Hands down character breakfasts are the way to go. Breakfast is the cheapest meal of the day. Your kid is usually looking pretty awesome at this point. They haven’t had a chance to spill anything on themselves yet. And everyone is in a great mood because the day has just begun!
I also highly recommend doing Epcot as your first park. While there are not many rides there is a lot to see. And if your kids don’t know about Magic Kingdom there will be no whining for rides because they won’t know about them! Once we finished breakfast we went back and did Soarin’ and Living with Land while we waited for the world showcase to open. It was a nice way to start the day. There are princesses throughout the world show case. But the lines were long and it was hot. So we never stood in one because we had already met them all! If you do not want to do breakfast your can find Jasmine in Morocco – she’s tucked back in a walkway so you have to ask for her. She was meeting with Aladdin when we found her but the line was super hot so my daughter said no way! Snow White can be found in Germany. Belle in France. We did stumble across Belle and she was in her blue dress. I wanted to stay and meet her but my daughter did not want to wait in the hot sun.
Well that was part one of the series. I hope you all enjoyed reading about our adventure at Akershus. We definitely enjoyed ourselves. And we were able to meet 5 princesses in under an hour! Then we spent the rest of our day enjoying the cultures while we traveled the world show case at Epcot.

The character meals are a great way to knock off a bunch of the Princesses at once. Plus you are in the AC and have food!
