Let the Weight Loss Begin!

Nutrisystem Food

I just finished my last week on those icky antibiotics and steroids! I had been doing really good about not gaining weight until this last week. I went up 2 lbs but I have a sneaking suspicion it's probably just water weight. I'm not going to let it get me down.  Nope. No way. Instead, I'm going to hit next week hard. It's my first time in over 6 weeks that I have not been on some sort of antibiotic, steroid or felt ill. I'm feeling pretty darn good! Finally. I've learned that over the past ...

Our Raised Garden Bed Adventure

Farm To Table Movement

Now that Peyton is older and she's helping in the kitchen more I thought it would be a good idea to try our hand at gardening this summer. The past few summers I have tried to do a garden bed but the bunnies, deer, ants and other wild life took it over. They treated my gardens like they were buffets and cleaned them out overnight! I even tried purchasing vegetable plants and planting them. The deer really appreciated that! Took them 2 days to eat all the plants down to nothing. This year I ...

Find Your Oasis at The Miramonte Indian Wells Resort and Spa

Miramonte Indian Wells Resort and Spa

Recently I had the pleasure of spending a little time at the Miramonte Indian Wells Resort in Indian Wells, California. I was extremely excited to stay with the Miramonte for several reasons that I'm going to share with you. But first, a little backstory about the Miramonte. I was surprised to find out it's owned by Hilton. Hilton has what they call a curio line of boutique hotels, these are unique hotels Hilton has acquired. While the Hilton hospitality and high standards are implemented at ...

Discover THAT Cooking School

THAT Cooking School Lilydale, MN

Peyton and I love to watch cooking shows and competitions, so when we found out we were spending an evening at THAT Cooking School we were pretty excited. I have grown up in the Twin Cities all my life and I have never been to THAT Cooking School. To be honest, I didn't even know about it until I got my itinerary for the weekend. But once I read about it I knew it was a place I wanted to visit. For those of you unfamiliar with THAT Cooking School let me tell you a little about it. THAT stands ...

Our South Dakota Adevnture

Presidential Trail at Mount Rushmore South Dakota

Every year, Minnesota schools have a 4-day break in the middle of October. Last year, I decided I wanted to take this time and go explore a part of the United States with Peyton. I planned on using this mid-fall break as a learning tool rather than sitting around the house. This year, our school district turned our 4-day break into a 6-day break! When I heard we were going to be having 6-days off I knew I wanted to head to South Dakota. It's a fairly long drive from Minnesota and I knew the ...
