Are you ready to meet Sofia Avellino? Sofia is the oldest of three girls born and raised in New York. Sofia, Isabella and Francesca worked thier whole live in the family business. Their parents started the company when the girls were little and built it from nothing up into one of the most successful fabric businesses around. Throughout thier childhoods Papa groomed each daughter to take over a portion of the business. Isabella had a flair for style so she ran the showroom and eventually all the showrooms. Francesa helped Papa with the checkbook growing up so naturally she handled the finance part of the company. And Sofia, being the oldest, took care of the rest which included much travel to secure deals.
All the girls were well taken care of. Financially there was nothing more they could ask for. But Sofia often felt like she didn’t belong. She saw the world differently than her sisters. Plus both of her sister were breath takingly beautiful and tall, one was 5’9″ the other 5’10”. Sofia was beautiful too but she was only 5’2″, plus she had a rare blood disorder that was hereditary. No one else in the family had the same disorder, not even a distant relative. But her parents dismissed it. When Sofia would try to talk to her parents about what she saw or felt they would play along for a little bit but eventually they would dismiss it. Eventually as Sofia grew older she quite talking about her thoughts and what she saw. She kept it to herself.
As the years passed on Sofia could never shake the feeling something was not right. And then one day, when her mother was very old and during her final moments, she tried to explain it all to Sofia. She handed Sofia a book and told her to open it find out the truth. Sofia dismissed the book at first. Eventually she came around and opened it. What did Sofia find out?? Did her mother have an affair? Was the man she thought was her father not her father? Was she adopted? Was she switched at birth? This plot sounds really intriguing! I’m always on the look out for a new book with a great story.
