I’ve been doing shapes in Peyton lunches for a while now. And I have been a little bad about keeping up with the dishes. So today I just sliced her sandwich into quarters and stacked them in her bento box. It was a tight fit, but I didn’t want to waste any of the sandwich so I squished it in. I used thinly sliced turkey breast and Colby Jack cheese thinly sliced to make this meal.I had some blackberries and blueberries I needed to use up before they spoiled so I washed them off and filled up the bento box.
I’m really trying to work vegetables into the bento boxes. Getting fruit in is easy! But veggies is another story. I decided to try with baby carrots and ranch dressing. Hoping that would entice Peyton to eating them. The nice thing with this bento box is each well is sealed when shut so the ranch dressing will stay in place and not leak all over the other food!
Peyton is a big yogurt fan so I filled the last slot with strawberry yogurt. No treats today! I kind of feel like the yogurt is a treat since it’s sweet and has fruit in it. I’m sure Peyton will not even notice.
When this bento box came home the only thing that was left was the carrots. Peyton was not a big fan of them in her lunch box. So I guess I’ll have to think of some different vegetables to use in her lunches.
Here’s a link to some of the items I used to make today’s lunch –
