Why I am Trying the Always Eat After 7 PM Plan

Tracking PixelI received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."Many of you know I’m a single mom to an adorable daughter, whom I have 24/7/365.  But what you might not know is that I help my grandmother and mother out a tremendous amount with errands, shopping, and cooking. I also work full time out of the house with an average workweek of 50+ seat hours. Seat hours are the number of hours you actually sit in your office working. It’s a pretty demanding job. Peyton has special needs which means monthly to bi-monthly doctor visits, phone calls, etc. And on top of all that I run this website.  My life is busy. I’m usually up by 5 am and I’m lucky if I’m in bed by 11 pm. I never get everything done in a day and I’ve learned to accept that. But this year, I’ve decided to make my health and wellness a focus. I want to lose the weight I’ve put on since I had Peyton.

My life is pretty sedimentary, I don’t get much activity, but I’m changing that. And I’m also changing how I eat and how I view food. The Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion teaches you that you can eat what you love.  There are just some subtle changes that make big impacts. For example, I made their chili stuffed potatoes for dinner last night. They were delicious and a huge hit with my mother and daughter. But Always Eat After 7 PM had me use sweet potatoes and Greek yogurt. Those 2 changes meant more protein in my meal, fiber, and lots of other healthy nutrients my body needs that I would not have gotten had I used a baked potato and sour cream.  And did I tell you Peyton devoured hers? She was skeptical at first and only took a small nibble but after that, she was gobbling it down. So not only am I able to eat healthy, flavorful meals that will help me lose weight, I don’t have to cook a different meal for everyone else in the household. Everyone can eat what I make. And that’s a big deal for me. I don’t have time to cook 2 different meals at every mealtime.

“Scientists have established that consuming at least 20 grams of protein stimulates muscle protein synthesis for two to five hours after eating a meal. However, recent research also shows that protein synthesis drops to unexpectedly low levels during sleep, even if you eat ample protein during and after evening exercise. This has led researchers to speculate that this process may fall off during sleep if you don’t eat protein prior to bedtime.” – Always Eat After 7 PM

See, making those 2 little changes in my dinner added extra protein, That protein stimulated muscle protein synthesis while I was sleeping!

I’m very pleased with the Always Eat After 7 PM plan thus far. The author, Joel Marion, said he wrote this book because he wanted a diet plan that was easy for people to follow. His exact words – While any diet is never truly easy, it can be more enjoyable and much easier to adhere to when you understand how Always Eat After 7 pm works because it caters to our bodies natural instincts.

And it is easy to follow. I am enjoying the meals and so is my family. I wouldn’t even think I was dieting because I am happy about mealtime. I’m excited for dinner. And I am not hungry.  You know that gnawing hunger you get when you are dieting? I have not experienced that once since I started Always Eat After 7 PM.

You can purchase your own copy of Always Eat After 7 PM online.
