Itsy Bitsy Christmas

Itsy Bitsy Christmas

Can you believe there's less than 100 days before Christmas?! This summer has flown by and fall is moving fast too. Before you know it, we will be sipping hot cocoa by the fire and reading Christmas books at bedtime.  Itsy Bitsy Christmas by Max Lucado is a perfect night time story to read to your little one or have your little one read to you. Peyton is in 1st grade now so she is participating in our night time reading.  Typically I make her read to me every other night. And this is one of ...

Magic Bat Day

Magic Bat Day pick up right where Nick's Very First Day of Baseball left off. We meet back up with the kids and Nick, they are on day 2 of baseball practice. And this time they are learning how to hit the ball! Again, Kevin Christofora, step by step play is given on how to hit a baseball and be successful. Each illustration shows the next piece of the puzzle so my audience could see just how they needed to stand, hold the bat and where to look so they could connect the bat with the ball. I ...

Nick’s Very First Day of Baseball

My nephews love sports and are about three years old. Nick's Very First Day of Baseball is the perfect book for them. Children are curious by nature and this book really helps a  child understand the game of baseball and everything that goes into it. Even my 5 year old daughter loved listening to the story. But I must admit my favorite part was when the coach was having the children do exercises. The level of detail Kevin Christofora (the author) wrote gave step by step instructions for ...

Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z A Bedtime Story

Does your child have a hard time falling a sleep? Mine does! Every single night we have a dance around the house about going to bed. There's always one more drink. Or she's starving to death and needs a snack. Or it's too dark in her room. Or one hundred million other reasons she can think of to stall bedtime. Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z A Bedtime Story shows how various people get ready for sleep each night. My daughter loved seeing that other people had routines or things they needed to do before they ...

Wilton Wilberry & The Magical Christmas Wishing Well

Wilton Wilberry and the Magical Christmas Wishing Well is not your average Christmas story. When I first picked it up I was surprised that it was forty some pages.  At first I didn't think my daughter would sit still that long but I was wrong. On the very first page we meet Wilton Wilberry, a young child who is not very happy. Every Christmas he feels his brother and sister get all the good presents and he only gets the boring presents. And he is not happy! That night he cries himself to ...

The Three Wise Guys

This is a cute story! I chuckled all the way through it. It's meant for a little older crowd, about 6 or so.  There's lots of humor throughout the story. I feel because of the humor, your child would need to know the bible story of the birth of Jesus to fully get the humor. I love the little boy’s humor in this book, I feel he captures how many of us feel time to time about Sunday school. The Three Wise Guys tells a story about a Sunday school class putting on a play about the birth of ...
