How to Make Tie Dye Cupcakes

Last weekend Peyton and I attended a cupcake decorating demonstration from Way Cool Cooking School at the Crayola Experience at the Mall of America. This weekend I decided to take the knowledge and new skills and put them to the test. I wanted to see if it was really that easy to make Tie Dye cupcakes at home. Because everything seems so simple when you are in a class, I was curious to see if I would have the same results at home. Here's a list of supplies you'll need to make these ...

Cherry Soft Serve Ice Cream with Ice Cream Depot

Cherry Soft Serve with Ice Cream Depot

We are having a blast trying out new recipes with our Ice Cream Depot machine. Tonight, I created a recipe for Cherry Soft Serve Ice Cream. I will admit, the strength of the cherry flavor is going to depend on the ripeness of the cherries you use. Since it's the middle of winter in Minnesota, I used canned tart cherries. This gave the soft serve a mild cherry flavor. This summer I plan on recreating the recipe and adjusting it to be used with fresh cherries from Michigan and see how it changes ...

Chocolate Covered Christmas Trees

One of my favorite things to do is bake cookies with Peyton. When I was little, I remember my mom baking and filling our whole dining room table full of treats during the holidays. She would wrap them up in decorative papers and give them to friends, family, and neighbors for the holidays. She was a fabulous baker and everyone looked forward to receiving a basket full of goodies from her during the holiday.  Now, I like to bake treats with Peyton. This year, I'm teaching her how to make ...

Halloween Spider Cupcakes

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love decorating the house and making special treats. Today I decided to try my hand at making these super cute spider cupcakes. They didn't look too challenging. At least on the package. I saw the Wilton kit while I was at the store picking up decorations and I thought it was so adorable! But the kit only makes 12 spider cupcakes. And it doesn't come with the frosting, tip or bag. Inside the kit are the sugar eyes, little feet on toothpicks and ...

Hold On To Summer a Little Longer with Nutrisystem Pound Cake

Nutrisystem Strawberry Shortcake

The kids are heading back to school and summer is coming to an end but I'm going to hold on to it as long as I can. This coming weekend there will be celebrations and BBQs. It can be a hard time for those of us that are on a weight loss journey or trying to eat healthily. But I have a little recipe up my sleeve! Here's an option for a low cal strawberry shortcake using the Nutrisystem Pound Cake. I know I get bored and frustrated with eating the same things over and over again. And when I get ...
