Homemade Lavender Sugar Scrub

Lavender Sugar Scrub

With the new year here I want to focus on getting back to basics. Using more holistic products around our house. I've always used essential oils in our daily life to help promote a healthy lifestyle. I will warn you, there is a fair amount of prep work that needs to be done for this cake and a long list of ingredients. I've broken this recipe out ...

Hot Cocoa Buttercream Frosting

frosted with hot cocoa buttercream

We are going to be exploring the world of buttercream frosting this year! My first adventure was with making this Hot Cocoa Buttercream to go with my Indulgent Hot Cocoa Cake. It's not like your traditional buttercream. I used American Heritage Cocoa which gave it a grainy texture but I really liked it. If you used a smoother cocoa like Swiss Miss or Hershey's you won't have the texture. So for this Hot Cocoa Buttercream Frosting you will need the following - 3 Sticks Unsalted Butter (1.5 ...

Pan of Roasted Marshmallows to be used as cake filling

This was a new concept I had heard of being used in cakes and I thought I would give it a try. It's actually extremely simple to make roasted marshmallows to use in between the layers of your cake. I use this technique in our Indulgent Hot Cocoa cake I made for the holidays. You will need the following - 1 - bag small marshmallows Parchment Paper Large Pan with raised sides Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line the pan with parchment paper. Make sure to get it up over the ...
