Going on a weight loss journey can be one of the most revolutionary things in your life. You’ll drop a few pounds, feel more confident in yourself, and just generally live a healthier life. It’s a great example to set for your kids too, as you don’t want to be a lazy parent that eats badly and does nothing. They’ll end up copying you, which will lead to weight problems when they’re older!
Losing weight feels great, but there’s one common problem a lot of people have away from the actual issues of eating right and exercising. As you can probably tell from the title, that issue is figuring out what to wear. No doubt you already have a wardrobe full of clothes, but they might start to feel too big, meaning you can’t wear them. So, do you go out and buy more clothes? But what if you keep losing weight and those new clothes don’t fit? Does that mean you should set a target size you want to drop down to and buy clothes for that?
So many questions in need of answering, but don’t worry, this little guide will help you figure out what to wear on your weight loss journey.
Bargain Hunt For Essentials
Everyone has those essential items that you wear almost every day. I’m talking about underwear, jeans, a few simple tops, etc. Buying a new version of all these things can be costly, particularly when you consider you’ll probably have to buy them again in a few months time. But, what you can do is hunt for bargains. Look in thrift shops, bargain shops, sales, outlets, clearance items; you name it. Don’t bother thinking about quality here, especially for things like underwear. Get the cheapest versions you can find, saving you money, and allowing you to buy clothes that fit you right now.
Invest In Some Dresses
For me, dresses are one of the best things to wear as you’re losing weight. This is because they can be bought in one size, but that size may still fit you as you get smaller. I’m not talking about skin-tight bodycon dresses here, I’m thinking more along the lines of looser fit ones. If you want, you can shop Anthony’s great selection of dresses to see some examples of what I’m talking about. A handful of casual dresses will help you dress comfortably as you lose weight. The good thing with some is you can buy them a little smaller than your size, and they’ll still fit fairly well while you get down to the right size. Similarly, you can buy them in the size you are now, and they might still fit well in the future too. Plus, dresses are colorful and free-flowing, making you feel happy while you wear them.
Purchase Clothes That Stretch
Another good idea I have up my sleeve is to look for clothes that stretch. These days, a lot of things like jeans or tops are made using materials that allow them to have some degree of stretchiness. So, if you buy them in a size down from yours, they will still stretch and fit you fairly comfortably. This is a good way to potentially save money as you can buy clothes in the size you want to fit into, and the stretchy nature lets you fit in them now as well. Bear in mind this isn’t a solution for all types of clothes, just ones that are actually made in this type of material. Normally, when you shop for something, it will describe the type of material – at least when you’re shopping online, it does.
Sell Your Oversized Clothes
Finally, if you’re forced to spend money on smaller clothes, what will happen to the larger ones? Some of us like keeping a few items as a bit of a trophy for our weight loss. However, you should sell most of your old stuff. Stick it up on eBay, and you can regain some money from them. You might be surprised how much money you can earn back from selling old clothes, particularly if some of them are fairly new too. The money you make will go some way to covering the cost of having to buy new clothes.
There you have it; my advice for figuring out what to wear on your weight loss journey. I hope my tips have given you a few ideas on what you can put on, and what type of clothes you should look to buy. Now, you can look great while feeling great about your weight loss too!
