The big game is in just a week. Now is the time to start planning out what you are going to serve on the big day. Because we all know the food is just as important as watching the game. I mean, that’s why watching the Super Bowl together at someone’s house is such a big event. We want to get together, see friends and family, enjoy some great food and watch some football! Nacho are the perfect food for any football party.
Game Day Nachos are full of flavor, protein, and crunch, everything you need while watching the game. Plus, you can quickly pull them together making them a dish that can be made over and over throughout the day in a matter of minutes.
To make these Game Day Nachos you will need the following –
Tortilla Chips
Carnitas (or your other favorite taco meat)
Cheese
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Sour Cream
Avocado
The trick to the perfect game day nachos is layering. You really need to layer the chips and cheese.
Take a microwave-safe plate and place a layer of chips down. Then pour a generous amount of cheese over the chips. Repeat this two or three times until you have a nice big mound of chips.
Microwave the chips for about 30 seconds to melt the cheese.
Top with the carnitas, you can see how to make our delicious carnitas and make this a day or two ahead of time. If your meat is not hot you can add it before you microwave the cheese. You can also layer the meat with the cheese so there is meat and cheese throughout the nachos.
Next, add your lettuce.
Then, sprinkle your diced tomatoes on top.
Drizzle the sour cream over the top of the nachos.
Garnish with sliced avocado.
Now it’s time to enjoy!
You can add additional toppings like jalapenos, salsa, refried beans, olives, pretty much anything you want.
