Kid's Lunch Ideas

A Ghostly Lunch

Kids Bento Box Lunch Idea

I love the holidays because then I can really have some fun with Peyton's lunches. All month long I have been using Halloween-themed cookie cutters to make her sandwiches a little more festive.  I have even found some fun, fall candies to sneak into her lunch too! Today, Peyton is having a ghostly peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  I just cannot get Peyton off the peanut butter and jelly kick that she's been on for months. While we were grocery shopping yesterday I picked up some blackberries and ...

Peanut Butter Leaf Lunch

Kids Bento Box Fall Lunch Idea

It's been a while since I posted Peyton's lunch for you all. But life has been crazy! Yes, I have been feeding her, I just have not been posting it. Today, I decided to get back in the routine. I still have pictures of all her Bento  Box meals and I'll try to get those up over the next few weeks or use them as fill-ins on the days she decides to take hot lunch. With the weathering taking a drastic dip, it feels like fall so I made more of a fall themed box today. Our main entree is going to ...

Mini Butterfly Sandwich Bento Box

Mini Butterfly Bento Box

It's Friday! So today's lunch has a special treat in there, one that has never made an appearance in Peyton's lunches before. Kids love bite size food. Today I took mini butterfly cookie cutters and cut Peyton's peanut butter and jelly sandwich into several little mini butterfly sandwiches! Bite size, finger food treats.Cheese balls! I never buy cheese balls but Peyton was with me when I went grocery shopping. And in a moment of weakness, I said yes to a huge ol'barrel of cheese ball. Mind you, ...

Princess Castle Bento Box

Princess Castle Bento Box

I'm loving my new set of princess cookie cutters, so today I made peanut butter and grape jelly castle sandwiches! Peyton said she needed two sandwiches because once you cut them into the shape they are too small. So be mindful when using cookie cutters. Sometimes you may have to make two sandwiches to give the kids a decent size sandwich. To help combat waste, I try to use the peanut butter and jelly in the center where the cookie cutter shape will be. Then I'm only wasting the bread. As I was ...

Cheesy Hearts and Crackers Bento Box

Cheesy Hearts and Crackers Bento Box

I'm trying to break Peyton of peanut butter and grape jelly sandwiches so today I made a cheese and cracker lunch box! I took a mini heart cookie cutter with a scalloped edge and cut out 6 Colby Jack cheese hearts. I like to buy the rectangle individually sliced cheese to do this with. I use about 3 slices per bento box meal. And then I have them for my lunches if I want to use them too. I switched out the beef sticks I normally buy to turkey sticks. Just thought turkey would be a little ...

PB & J Sushi Bento Box

PB J Sushi Bento Box Lunch

Today was the first day of summer camp! Where Peyton is attending summer camp she has the option of eating the lunch provided by the program (a federally funded and approved lunch program) or bringing lunch from home. Well, I've looked over the menu and I can honestly say I do not see how it's a balanced lunch. There is so much processed, carb filled foods with very little protein. Isn't this the time, in Peyton's childhood, where she needs protein, calcium, fresh fruits and veggies? So I've ...
