Many of you know Peyton was diagnosed with Eczema last year right before Kindergarten started. We had such an ordeal! Peyton had a severe eczema outbreak happening behind her right ear. I had never seen eczema before so I really didn't think much of it. We went to get her a hair cut for her first day of school and even the hairdresser never said a word about it. Instead, she washed Peyton's hair and while she was combing it out proclaimed Peyton had head lice. Well, that sure freaked everyone ...
Julep Custom Maven Box June
When I first joined Julep there were only a few choices. You took a quiz and based on your answer you were thrown into a category. Based on that category, you would receive a box tailored to those category preferences. It was only 3 nail polishes back then. So much has changed! Now you can pick and choose what you would like in your box or you can go with the choices Julep has picked out for you. I typically create a custom box so I get exactly what I want and pay $19.99 a month for it.Here's ...
Butterfly Cheese and Crackers Bento Box
There are more than sandwiches you can use to make a lunch. Sometimes I forget about that and get into a sandwich rut. So today I took thick slices of Colby Jack cheese and used mini butterfly cookies cutters to turn them into butterflies! I used about 4 slices of thick sliced cheese to make 8 butterflies. I figured that was enough for lunch. Then I used a few Ritz crackers and tossed in a handful of pepperoni sticks. (I buy the pepperoni sticks at Target in the snack aisle.) Next up was the ...
IPSY June Bag
I love my IPSY bag subscription. I look forward to it's arrival every month. I just hate that it takes till nearly the end of the month to receive it! For those of you considering signing up for IPSY here's what I received this month in my June 2016 IPSY bag - I really like this month's bag. The graffiti look is fun and colorful. Peyton has already claimed it and I will be reclaiming it after she falls asleep. There were 2 full-size items this month! I'm really excited about the juice BEAUTY ...
BFree from Wheat and Gluten
After Peyton's 6-year-old check up I have really started to take a look at what she eats. After tracking her diet for a few weeks what I noticed was carbs, wheat and low protein were her meal choices when away from me. The school system and camp she attends both follow the federal food guidelines. The federal food guidelines is a bunch of nonsense. I even discussed it with our family doctor and she said Peyton would be better off if I sent her lunch to school with her. So that is what I've been ...
Baxter Turns Down His Buzz
Reading to children on a daily basis is important. While you are reading to your child it's a great time to choose stories with a lesson. Baxter Turns Down His Buzz is a children's booked geared to help children understand ADHD. When I was growing up, many children went undiagnosed with ADHD. Those children were labeled as trouble makers or class clowns. Thanks to my grandmother, my brother was not labeled either of those, he was diagnosed with ADHD and given the classroom setting he needed to ...
