Real Life Mean Girls

Some days I look around and feel like I'm living in a real life version of Mean Girls. I thought that cliques and passive aggressive behavior was reserved for high schoolers.  But evidently I was wrong. Very, very wrong. This past month has been extremely stressful and the true colors of people have come out more than I ever thought possible. In the first part of the month my personal life was hit with a huge blow. The school district we live in decided they were going to close 3 out of our 9 ...

A Day in My Life – Part 3

It's been a crazy day! But now I'm at my very first PR cocktail party and I'm pretty stoked. I have no clue what to expect and I'm a little nervous. Plus, I've just realized these boots are KILLING my feet. But I power on. I walk through the lobby of the hotel and happen upon my hostesses. They are so nice!! We chit chat for a while and they send me up in the elevator to the event. So far this is pretty swanky. I'm used to chauffeuring my daughter around to dance lessons and swim class. Not ...

A Day in My Life – Part 2

Well after the whirlwind of the morning I am exhausted! I normally don't stop for coffee but this morning I must. And my drink of choice?? Caribou's milk chocolate turtle mocha. If the caffeine doesn't work all the sugar should! But if I do need a pick me up I always go the Caribou by my office. They have the nicest barista! I just love her to pieces. Even though I only come in every so often she knows me and my drink. I really enjoy our morning banter. Now I have my coffee and it's time to ...

A Day in My Life – Part 1

I get comments all the time how people wish they could do what I do. Blog. Well it's not as glamorous as everyone thinks. So I thought I would share what a day like was for me. Here we go! 5:00 am the alarm sounds. My first thought is - Didn't I just go to sleep? And who in the world thought 5 am would be a good time to get up? Well, of course it was me. I thought 5 am would be a great time to get up. There's so much to do! And I was too tired to stay up any later last night so I thought ...

The First Snow Fall

Well yesterday was the first measurable snowfall where I live. And like every year, the first snowfall is horrific. Horrific because everyone loses their minds! They forget how to drive and all about common courtesy. It's all about them and getting to that all important destination not a minute late. So like every first snowfall of the year traffic was horrible. There were semi-trucks stuck on ramps because it was too icy for them, cars spun out in ditches because they forgot to slow down and ...
