  • Explore the Lincoln Park Zoo

Another place I had never been on all my travel to Illinois was the Lincoln Park Zoo.  It’s a free zoo so I’m not sure why we’ve never visited but I decided we were going to check it out this time. Spending the day at the zoo is one of Peyton’s and my favorite things… [Continue Reading]

  • Mammoth Site

Peyton has a fascination with dinosaurs. There was one point when she would only watch The Land Before Time and Ice Age movies. She’s better now and watches other shows but when I saw an opportunity to take her to a site where they are excavating Mammoth bones I knew I had to take her.… [Continue Reading]

  • 4 Things to do Near Charleroi, PA with Kids

Traveling with kids has it’s up and downs. But one way to make sure there are more ups than down is to plan out events, attractions and stops that are fun for them. And that’s just what I am going to do today. I’m going to share with you 4 things to do near Charleroi,… [Continue Reading]

  • Custer County Candy Company

On our trip through South Dakota, we stumbled across an adorable old fashioned candy store. The Custer County Candy Company is located in Custer just a 15 minuted drive from Wind Cave National Park. It’s right off the main drag, tucked back just a little ways off the street. If you see a huge metal… [Continue Reading]

  • Reptile Gardens: Wild Animal Park

Peyton loves to go to zoos and it is my goal to take her to as many as I can while she is little. When I heard about the Reptile Gardens: Wild Animal Park I wanted to check it out. At first, I thought it was a zoo full snakes but I was completely wrong.… [Continue Reading]

  • Christmas Village

It’s always Christmas time at Christmas Village in Rapid City, South Dakota. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. I love decorating our tree, the home and our walkway. It’s something Peyton and I have been doing together since the day she was born. Granted, when she was a baby she sat and watched. But… [Continue Reading]

  • 5 Apple Orchards to Visit This Fall

It’s nearly fall y’all! Can you believe how quickly summer just flew by?? It feels like it was just yesterday that Peyton was getting out of the school and we were packing up the car to head to Wisconsin Dells. But yet, here we are, in school and starting to winterize the yard.  I cannot… [Continue Reading]

  • Crazy Horse

South Dakota is steeped in history, it’s one of the main reasons I chose to take the kids here for MEA break. After visiting Mount Rushmore  we headed over to Crazy Horse. It’s only about a 15-20 minute drive. Crazy Horse is a privately funded memorial surviving on donations from the public. It’s a shame there is… [Continue Reading]

  • Minnesota to Kentucky in One Day

Can it be done? Can one person drive straight through from Minnesota to Bowling Green, Kentucky in one day? It’s nearly a 12-hour drive without any hiccups.  That’s a long drive. But I did it! That’s exactly what I did when I took Peyton to Bowling Green, Kentucky over MEA break. We drove the whole… [Continue Reading]

  • 3 Pumpkin Patches to Visit in Hamilton County

Pumpkin Spice is back! It’s everywhere. Like, literally everywhere. The temperatures will be dropping soon and everyone will be bundling up in their favorite sweatshirts, watching football and drinking pumpkin spice lattes.  It’s also the perfect time of year to plan a visit to your favorite pumpkin patch, pick some pumpkins and take some family… [Continue Reading]

Dry Your Dishes in Style

Do you do your dished by hand? I do. Well, I do some of my dishes by hand. I wash all of Peyton's Bentgo boxes and snack boxes by hand as well as anything does not come clean in the dishwasher. Before, I used to just lay a towel on the counter and lay them out there. But that doesn't look very nice. Now, I'm drying those dishes in style on my new Bamboo Dish Drying Rack. Besides keeping the dishes off the counter, I feel this helps them dry a little faster. The air can flow all around the ...

Breakfast in Bed? Yes, Please!

Bamboo Handle Tray

I don't get to spend very many mornings in bed past 5 am. So if I have the opportunity to have breakfast in bed I am all for it! Having this bamboo breakfast try makes it easier to get out of bed, make breakfast and then head back to bed to enjoy it. I'm still trying to convince Peyton to make me breakfast but that is not working out so well. So until I can convince her I guess I'll have to make it myself. What's so great about this bamboo breakfast try is the side rails and handles. The ...

Bring Home the Ant-Man and the Wasp Today

Ant Man and the Wasp

Oh, the day has finally arrived! Ant-Man and the Wasp is available on Blu-Ray, DVD and digital!!! Before I took Peyton to see Ant-Man and the Wasp I made her wage the Marvel movies in order so she could get the full picture of what was going on. And let me tell you, it made things make a lot more sense watching one movie after another! Plus, we also got to see all the movies again and to see how they fit into each other is really quite amazing. Because they are several months or some even years ...

Can a Dealership Do an Oil Change?

Can the car dealership I bought my car at do my oil changes? Yes, yes it can! Most likely, the dealership you bought your vehicle at can do all your routine maintenance as well as repairs. Did you know they can even change your tires? They can. And they carry the tires that are suggested by the manufacturer for your vehicle.
