Amusement Parks and Nutrisystem

Waiting in line at Valley Fair

Valley Fair, that was my challenge this past weekend. What is Valley Fair? Well, it's an amusement park full of rides and plenty of off plan foods that can tank my nutritional intake for the day.  My goal was to stay on track with my calorie intake in relation to my calorie burn. But how? By journaling my food and using my Fitbit to track my activity. The first thing I learned when I started this journey with Nutrisystem is to journal. Journal everything you put in your mouth. The first few ...

More Than 10 lbs Down and Still Going!

Nutrisystem Week 4

What a month!! I'm loving Nutrisystem and all the amazing things that are coming because of my weight loss goals. So it's been 4 weeks that I have been working my plan. Mind you, I've been busy so I haven't had a chance to add in exercise but I have been journaling EVERYTHING I eat and using my fit bit to make sure I am burning 1,000 or more calories a day than I am consuming. I read somewhere that you need to burn at least 1,000 calories more than you take in if you want to lose a pound or more ...

My Craziest Week on Nutrisystem

Chunky Salsa and Wheat Thins

This week was nuts. I felt like I was constantly on the go. Peyton had her school carnival, I had a concert to cover and I had over 50 payroll tax returns to do this week on top of my typical daily tasks. But I did it. I survived the chaos and I stayed on track with Nutrisystem. Remember last week when I told you that preparation is key? Well, that could not be more true this week. Every night before I went to bed I would take 15 minutes to look over my upcoming day. It really helped me focus ...

Ditch The Oil With These Grease-Free Cooking Tips

Crispy Chicken with Mashed Potato and Spicy Collard Greens Blue Apron

We are often told that cooking ourselves is a lot healthier than relying on ready meals and takeaways. And that’s all because we can control the amount of salt and sugar that goes into our own meals. However, there is often one part of cooking that we forget to consider, which often means our home-cooked food isn’t as healthy as we’d like to think. And that is when it comes to using oil. Most of us forget to think about how we can cut down on the amount of oil we use in cooking. Hopefully, all ...

The Joy of Breakfast for Dinner (Brinner?)

Breakfast MasterPan

Breakfast is widely accepted as the most important meal of the day. But why restrict all that delicious buttery yolky goodness to the morning? Imagine, instead of wolfing down your burnt toast at the wheel in rush hour traffic, you could be savoring your eggs benedict by candlelight – with a large glass of wine. Let me introduce you to Brinner – all of the joy of breakfast at dinner. Just think, classic breakfast dishes without any of the morning tantrums, rushing around or general stress. ...
