Peyton is spending time in Chicago with family. While it's nice having a little free time to myself I do not look forward to the drive to go pick her up. It's about 5-6 hours depending on the weather and traffic. And it feels even longer when you are doing it by yourself. This is one area I need help with. It's extremely tempting to stop at a gas station and pick up some junk food or pull off the road and hit up a drive thru. But I'm dedicated to my journey so I planned a head. I brought snacks ...

It’s Going Down!
Yep, you read that right, the scale is going down! After a little over a month of not losing weight, I am finally losing again. I went down 2.5 lbs this week!! But remember last week I had a 2 lb gain so I netted a .5 lb weight loss. To me, that's awesome! I'm so excited! I beat my illness, I'm off antibiotics and steroids and now my weight loss is back on track. What a great way to start August! This week there have been a ton of changes. Peyton has been gone at her Aunts in Chicago, so it's ...
Let the Weight Loss Begin!
I just finished my last week on those icky antibiotics and steroids! I had been doing really good about not gaining weight until this last week. I went up 2 lbs but I have a sneaking suspicion it's probably just water weight. I'm not going to let it get me down. Nope. No way. Instead, I'm going to hit next week hard. It's my first time in over 6 weeks that I have not been on some sort of antibiotic, steroid or felt ill. I'm feeling pretty darn good! Finally. I've learned that over the past ...
Amusement Parks and Nutrisystem
Valley Fair, that was my challenge this past weekend. What is Valley Fair? Well, it's an amusement park full of rides and plenty of off plan foods that can tank my nutritional intake for the day. My goal was to stay on track with my calorie intake in relation to my calorie burn. But how? By journaling my food and using my Fitbit to track my activity. The first thing I learned when I started this journey with Nutrisystem is to journal. Journal everything you put in your mouth. The first few ...
Staying on Track When Ill
A few weeks ago I was diagnosed with a sinus infection. It wasn't too bad at the time, so they put me on a z pack and sent me on my way. Well, 2 weeks went by and I still felt pretty crappy so I made an appointment to go in and see the doctor. Find out, my sinus infection is worse and now I need antibiotics and steroids. I was not thrilled about the steroids. I'm on a weight loss journey and I knew those little pills were going to wreak havoc in my journey. But I also knew I needed to take them ...
