  • A Little Throwback to Sea World

One of my fondest memories growing up was the vacation my grandparents took me on to Sea World. I was about 6 years old and it was my first time to a park with sea animals. Oh boy was I excited! Back in 1983, Sea World was a lot different than it is now. I… [Continue Reading]

  • Toll Roads No Problem with the FastToll App

Peyton and I are in the Chicago area at least every other month. But I don’t want to invest in an I-Pass because I don’t need it in Minnesota. And Illinois is really the only place that we travel that has toll roads. But stopping at all those toll roads adds on travel time. That’s… [Continue Reading]

On our trip through South Dakota, we stumbled across an adorable old fashioned candy store. The Custer County Candy Company is located in Custer just a 15 minuted drive from Wind Cave National Park. It’s right off the main drag, tucked back just a little ways off the street. If you see a huge metal… [Continue Reading]

Holiday DIY Projects are on the Horizon

Glass Ornaments

I know school has either just started or will be starting in the next week for most.  But I am already starting to think about the holidays. I'm not sure if it's because we are going to be spending time in Disney World in December so my holiday time is going to be crunched or because I cannot wait to start getting my arts and crafts together. Last year I saw a bunch of craft ideas on Pinterest that I wanted to try out. But many of them needed clear glass ornaments. Try finding clear glass ...

9 Things Every Girl Needs Just In Case. PERIOD.

PantyProp Just in Case Kit

Think back to when you were a little girl. I think I was in 3rd or 4th grade when "the talk" happened.  The boys were sent to the gym and the girls were sent to the cafeteria. The boys spent the afternoon in the gym playing basketball. We spent the afternoon learning about puberty, more specifically periods. Then we were sent home with a little purple box with a few big bulky maxi pads.  And that was it. Until you actually got your period. Back in the 80s periods were not a topic of ...

An Amish Harvest

An Amish Harvest Four Novellas

If you are looking for a book to take with you on vacation this fall or maybe to relax by the pool this Labor Day weekend you should keep reading. An Amish Harvest may look thick but it's four novellas bound together into one book. Perfect for vacation! With each story, roughly, being about 100 pages or so you can read a story from start to finish in an afternoon or even long plane ride. The fist novella is Under the Harvest Moon by Beth Wiseman. When Naomi Dienner is suddenly widowed, she ...

On the Second Day of Zoo Camp

Minnesota Zoo Wolf Statues

Peyton made it through day 2! When I asked her about her day she said it was GREAT! She never got this excited about the school's day camp she was in all summer. So what did they do today?? Well, she learned about horses and penguins. Which happen to be two of her favorite animals. In the morning, farmer Bob taught her about his farm and how his horses work on the farm. Peyton was surprised the horses had to work! Farmer Bob let the kids pet Duke and told them all about Duke's responsibilities ...

Maxam™ 33pc Glass Chess Set

Maxam 33 piece Glass Chess Set

With the holidays coming up fast I am always on the lookout for gift ideas. A chess set is classy, classic and timeless for a gift. A glass chess set is unique.  Maxam's 33 piece glass Chess Set is a great gift idea. I'm not one for playing Chess. Personally, I find the game interesting but I haven't had a chance to learn it yet. But I have always wanted my very own chess game. A glass chess set is unique. I haven't seen another glass set.  Typically I've seen wooden chess pieces. And while ...

Start the Day with a Tasty Treat

Mornings at my house start early. Mostly because Sebastian is ready to start the day at the first ray of sunlight. He likes to start each morning with a somewhat not so gentle tug of my hair. It's his special way of saying - Mom, it's time to get up! I need a treat!Together, Sebastian and I set out for the kitchen to start our morning together. I start the coffee pot and he cries for a treat. Meow Mix has come out with a new type of treat, Meow Mix Brushing Bites. And they come in chicken! ...
