  • Minnesota to Kentucky in One Day

Can it be done? Can one person drive straight through from Minnesota to Bowling Green, Kentucky in one day? It’s nearly a 12-hour drive without any hiccups.  That’s a long drive. But I did it! That’s exactly what I did when I took Peyton to Bowling Green, Kentucky over MEA break. We drove the whole… [Continue Reading]

  • Explore the Lincoln Park Zoo

Another place I had never been on all my travel to Illinois was the Lincoln Park Zoo.  It’s a free zoo so I’m not sure why we’ve never visited but I decided we were going to check it out this time. Spending the day at the zoo is one of Peyton’s and my favorite things… [Continue Reading]

  • Wind Cave National Park

While we were visiting South Dakota I wanted to spend some time in the National Parks. There are a few different parks you can visit while in the Rapid City area. Unfortunately, time flew by and we were only able to fit in one National Park. Wind Cave National Park is located just a short… [Continue Reading]

  • Custer County Candy Company

On our trip through South Dakota, we stumbled across an adorable old fashioned candy store. The Custer County Candy Company is located in Custer just a 15 minuted drive from Wind Cave National Park. It’s right off the main drag, tucked back just a little ways off the street. If you see a huge metal… [Continue Reading]

  • 5 Tips to Beat the Heat at Valleyfair

With summers being so short in Minnesota we try to cram as much as possible into it.  One of our favorite Minnesota places to spend time in the summer is Valleyfair. It’s a must-visit place for us every summer. But this summer Mother Nature is trying to break some records with triple-digit days! That is… [Continue Reading]

  • A Night at Medieval Times

I am always looking for new and unique experiences to take Peyton to. And when I saw Medieval Times, I knew I wanted to take her! How cool would it be to sit in a castle, watch knights jousting and have dinner? It sounded so cool. The only problem is, there is no castle in… [Continue Reading]

  • Mammoth Site

Peyton has a fascination with dinosaurs. There was one point when she would only watch The Land Before Time and Ice Age movies. She’s better now and watches other shows but when I saw an opportunity to take her to a site where they are excavating Mammoth bones I knew I had to take her.… [Continue Reading]

  • Kona Ice of Stillwater

Every weekend I look for food trucks that will be in our local area. Since the Minnesota State Fair was canceled and we can’t really travel much, finding and trying out new food trucks every weekend has kinda become our thing. I’ve seen Kona Ice of Stillwater posts in our local mom’s groups and I… [Continue Reading]

Household Items You May Want To Stop Buying

The world today has given us many gifts; while we are in the age of technology, we are also in an age where information is in abundance, and we really do need to make the most of it, especially when it comes to the things we buy. Nowadays, it seems that it matters not where you look, there is always something being sold to you and if we are truthful, these adverts truly pull us in and almost convince us to buy what’s right in front of us. One thing we should all do, though is stop and ...

Frozen 2 Popcorn Balls

And our third Frozen 2 inspired recipe of the week is Frozen 2 Popcorn balls! These were made in the Instant Pot but you can also make them with a good old fashioned popcorn maker and a saucepan on the stove.  Just do not try to use microwave popcorn to make these, it won't work that well. You want fresh, unbuttered, plain popcorn. To make these Frozen 2 Popcorn Balls you'll need the following - 1 TBSP unsalted butter 1/4 C light corn syrup 3 TBSP vegetable oil 1 C popcorn kennels (ck ...

Frozen was the first movie that Peyton ever saw in the movie theater. I remember how she sat on the edge of her seat the whole time, captivated by Elsa and Anna on the big screen. She was obsessed!
